A group of McDonald’s franchise owners is talking about the company’s new value meal.
They like that it’s affordable for customers, but they want McDonald’s to give more support in the future to keep the discounted meal going.
The $5 meal will be available from June 25 for about a month. It includes a McChicken or McDouble, four-piece chicken nuggets, fries, and a drink, all for less than buying them individually.
The offering comes as lower-income customers are eating out less due to rising prices, and companies are trying to offer better deals to customers.
Coca-Cola is helping with marketing funds to make the deal more attractive. McDonald’s hasn’t commented on the franchisee group’s letter, but they’ve said they know how important it is to offer good value to customers.
The franchisee group also wants McDonald’s to keep innovating with the menu, bringing back items like snack wraps and introducing new affordable options with lower costs for owners.
They’ve suggested bringing popular drinks from McDonald’s spinoff chain, CosMc’s, to main locations to make customers and employees excited.
These ideas were brought up earlier in the year when the group pushed for more affordable options without discounting core menu items.
