Hyderabad Schools Banned from Selling Uniforms, Shoes, Stationery

User Newsinnews

All schools in Hyderabad, whether state, CBSE, or ICSE, are now prohibited from selling uniforms, shoes, belts, books, notebooks, and stationery on their premises. If they choose to sell these items, they must do so without making a profit.

To ensure compliance, district educational officers (DEOs) are instructed to establish committees at the mandal level to oversee private school operations and ensure they do not engage in commercial sales.

According to court rulings, any sales made at school counters must be non-profit, meaning the school cannot make money from these transactions. Any violations of this rule should be reported to the relevant DEO.

Parents are also encouraged not to purchase uniforms, shoes, belts, or books directly from schools. Many education experts and parents welcome this decision as it helps prevent schools from overcharging for these essential items.
