“Teachers Not Counting Votes in Kurnool?”

User Newsinnews

Teachers, who usually help out with elections, weren’t asked to do so in Kurnool district this time. This has left some people puzzled.

Normally, teachers act as Polling Officers and Assistant Polling Officers, but this time, they weren’t given these roles.

Teachers are surprised because they were trained for election duties earlier, and many had already done similar work during local body elections.

Around 300 teachers were trained for the 2024 general elections, but now they’re not being used, even though they attended training sessions twice before.

Officials haven’t given clear answers about why teachers aren’t involved this time. It seems their services weren’t needed because they’re managed by local bodies and are considered ineligible.

Teachers are asking why they were trained if they weren’t going to be used.

It seems only teachers from government schools were asked to help with counting, while those working under the ZP management and school assistants weren’t included.
