Something really special happened in the Andhra Pradesh election this year with Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena party achieving a record that might never be beaten by any other big party in the future.
When Telugu Desam and Janasena decided how they’d share seats, Pawan Kalyan aimed for a 98% win rate in the MLA and MP seats his party was contesting. Critics from the YSR Congress scoffed at this, pointing out that Pawan himself lost in two constituencies, so how could he expect such a high win rate elsewhere?
But fast forward to today, Janasena not only met Pawan’s goal but surpassed it with a perfect 100% win rate.
No other significant political party, even in an alliance, has managed to win all the seats it was given. Janasena accomplished this by winning all 21 MLA seats and both MP seats it contested.
Even though Janasena didn’t contest many seats, their victories were impressive. 17 out of their 21 winning candidates secured victories with over a 35,000-vote margin, which is quite remarkable.
Janasena’s 100% record could go down in the history books of Andhra Pradesh, showing that big dreams can come true.
