Telangana’s 700 Cr Sheep Scam

User Newsinnews

After Revanth Reddy became the chief minister of Telangana, many government departments became very active.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has been working hard to catch any officials involved in corruption. Recently, they uncovered what seems to be a scam related to the distribution of sheep during the previous government’s time.

Several officials, including a former aide of the former Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, have been arrested by the ACB for their involvement in irregularities in the sheep distribution scheme. This scheme was a big project of the previous government.

The ACB explained that the arrested officials didn’t follow the rules for buying the sheep and intentionally involved private individuals or brokers in the process. They did this to misuse government funds for their own benefit.

The ACB estimates that around 700 crore rupees were misused in this scam. Ten people have already been arrested, and two more haven’t been taken into custody yet because of a court order. The investigation is still ongoing, and we’re waiting for more updates.
