Palla Srinivasa Rao emerged into the spotlight after the 2024 elections when he secured a historic victory in the Gajuwaka assembly constituency, winning by a staggering margin of 95,235 votes. Today, his joy has multiplied as he takes on the role of the new president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

The outgoing president, K Atchannaidu, stepped down from his position after being appointed to the state cabinet. The TDP leadership sought a suitable candidate from the BC community to replace Atchannaidu, and Palla was chosen for his strong allegiance to the party and his leadership among the BC community in the Vizag region.

Palla’s close rapport with Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh facilitated his ascent to the presidency. Now, he is determined to lead the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh and continues to hold the record for the MLA with the largest margin in the state’s history.

Previously, Palla won the Gajuwaka seat in 2014 but lost to YCP’s Tippala Nagi Reddy in 2019. His triumphant return in 2024, defeating Gudivada Amarnath, marks a remarkable comeback in his political career.
