Mondays and Fridays: Key Days for Andhra Pradesh

User Newsinnews

Similar to the period from 2014 to 2019, Mondays and Fridays are poised to regain their political significance in Andhra Pradesh. During those years, Mondays were synonymous with Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu’s visits to the Polavaram project, a critical infrastructure for the state. His inspections and reviews there made “Somavaram” (Monday) synonymous with “Polavaram” in political discussions.

Now, with Naidu back as Chief Minister after a significant electoral victory, he has reinstated the tradition of visiting Polavaram every Monday to oversee and accelerate project activities. His goal is to complete the project in the coming years, aiming to make history with its completion.

On the other hand, Fridays were marked by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s appearances at the CBI court for hearings related to his disproportionate assets cases. Despite his busy schedule during his Padayatra campaign, Jagan consistently attended court sessions every Friday. His status has changed now that he is no longer Chief Minister, necessitating his continued presence at the CBI court each week.

Facing numerous legal challenges, Jagan’s situation has intensified with the recent electoral defeat of YSRCP and the likelihood of increased scrutiny into his past actions by the new government under Naidu. This legal battle poses a significant challenge for Jagan as he navigates through this period.

In essence, Mondays and Fridays are once again pivotal days in Andhra Pradesh politics, reviving historical patterns of activity and scrutiny for both leaders.
