Nag Ashwin, the director of “Kalki 2898 AD” featuring Superstar Prabhas, is ensuring audiences get a detailed preview of the film before its release. In a recently released video, he delves into the unique world of Kalki and its three distinct cities.
Firstly, there’s Kaashi, the oldest and last surviving city on Earth until Kalki’s arrival in 2898 AD. Kaashi is depicted as a modern yet futuristic city facing severe resource shortages, including water. Its buildings are constructed from recycled metals due to the scarcity of new materials, creating a harsh environment with limited facilities.
Next, there’s the thriving city known as the “Complex,” which is built on an inverted pyramid structure above Kaashi. It resembles a mythical paradise like “Trishanku Swargam,” abundant with water, greenery, and luxurious living conditions.
Lastly, there’s Shambala, a city where it is believed Kalki will be born to end the injustices perpetrated by the inhabitants of Complex. According to mythology, Kalki is prophesied to emerge in Shambala during the end of Kali Yugam.
Each city in Kalki has its own distinct attire, weaponry, metric systems, and rules, creating a diverse and immersive world for the film’s narrative. Nag Ashwin’s insights promise a visually stunning and thematically rich experience for viewers.
