Childhood Friends from Guntur Rise to Become Top Police Chiefs
Two childhood friends from Guntur have reached the pinnacle of their careers in the police force. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao and Srinivas, both serving as Directors General of Police (DGPs), have a long history together.
Dwaraka Tirumala Rao currently holds the position of DGP in Andhra Pradesh, while his friend Srinivas has been serving as DGP in Puducherry for the past year.
Their journey started at Krishna Nagar Primary School in Guntur, where they became close friends. They continued their education together at Patibandla Sitaramaiah High School and later pursued postgraduate studies at Hyderabad Central University.
Dwaraka Tirumala Rao cracked the Civil Services Examination in 1989 and joined the Andhra Pradesh Cadre. He previously served as Commissioner of Police in Vijayawada before assuming the role of DGP.
Srinivas also cleared the Civil Services Examination, joining the Jammu and Kashmir Cadre in 1990. He took over as DGP in Pondicherry last year.
Their bond and shared journey have been an inspiration to many. Patibandla Vishnu, the secretary of Patibandla Sitaramayya School, plans to honor both officers with a special event to celebrate their achievements and invite their childhood friends to join in the celebration.
