Currently, people in Andhra Pradesh are focused on the controversial Rushikonda Palace, which was constructed at a cost exceeding Rs 500 crore. Additionally, the new TDP+ government has revealed that Jagan had plans to build luxurious YCP offices in all 26 districts of Andhra Pradesh.
In response to this issue, Lokesh highlighted that the cost of building a single palace like the one in Rushikonda could instead fund the construction of 25,000 houses. He pointed out that Jagan allocated 42 acres of land across 26 districts for a nominal fee of Rs 1000 per year to build large structures. “Spending Rs 500 crore on each of Jagan’s palaces could instead be used to build 25,000 homes for the poor,” Lokesh emphasized.
The new IT minister criticized this as a misuse of public funds for Jagan’s personal ambitions. He questioned the necessity of constructing such large buildings in every district, especially when the state’s finances are strained and resources are limited.
This ongoing controversy surrounding Jagan’s “Palace” projects has cast a shadow over the YCP, with media attention focused on the construction of various YCP offices throughout Andhra Pradesh.
