Usually, we hear about courts or the CBI investigating scams or irregularities. But in Bhopal, there’s a different story. The Madhya Pradesh High Court ordered a CBI investigation into allegations of problems in Nursing Colleges.
A group of CBI officers was assigned to this task. However, things took a surprising turn. Some of these officers joined hands with the Nursing Colleges and started issuing fitment certificates in exchange for bribes. They charged colleges between Rs 2 to 10 lakhs per certificate. Shockingly, two of these officers were direct CBI inspectors.
When the central CBI office found out about this, they launched an investigation into their own officers. The scam was uncovered, and 13 people were arrested in connection with it.
This case is unique because the CBI is now investigating its own officers who were involved in a scam during an investigation they were assigned to carry out.
