The workers emphasized that their salaries have been delayed for the past three months, causing financial hardship as they rely on these payments at the end of each month.

They mentioned that under the previous government, salaries were consistently paid on time, but delays have become common since the new government took over.

R Santhosha, state president of the ASHA Union, expressed their frustration, saying, “We are demanding that our salaries be paid on time, not at the end of the month. During the previous government, our salaries were deposited on the 1st of every month. However, for the third consecutive month under the new government, we have had to protest to receive our wages.”

Workers from various districts, including Medak, Sangareddy, Bhupalapally, Jangaon, Siddipet, and Vikarabad, participated in the sit-in protest.

Santhosha added that the Congress party had promised a fixed monthly salary of Rs 18,000, which was supposed to be implemented after certain conditions were met.

The workers also demanded job security certificates, employment opportunities for those eligible for Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery (ANM) and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) positions, ex-gratia payments, health cards, ASHA registries, job charts, and other benefits.
