IAS Yerra Srilakshmi has been a well-known figure in the Telugu community since the YSR era. She gained attention when she was arrested in 2011 in connection with the Obulapuram Mining case, which also involved Gali Janardhan Reddy. Despite the controversy, she was cleared of charges by the Telangana High Court.
Despite the past allegations, Srilakshmi has maintained the trust of the YS family. Even after her arrest, YS Jagan reinstated her to an administrative role. She was later appointed as the special chief secretary by Jagan after he became CM.
However, with the Chandrababu Naidu government now in power in AP, the situation has changed. Today, during a conference with IAS officials, Srilakshmi attempted to greet Naidu formally with a bouquet of flowers. However, Naidu declined to accept the bouquet, leaving Srilakshmi visibly disappointed.
Naidu’s refusal came after he criticized the operations of several IAS officers during his speech at the conference, expressing his strong disappointment with their performance over the last five years.
