Indian cricketer Hanuma Vihari recently faced trouble with the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) after stepping down as captain of the Andhra Ranji Trophy team. He claimed political pressure forced him to resign after an incident involving a player, KN Prudhviraj, who is the son of a politician. Prudhviraj refuted Vihari’s allegations, stating that Vihari approached him aggressively.
The situation escalated politically, with opposition parties like the Telugu Desam Party and Jana Sena accusing the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) of meddling in the ACA’s affairs. They alleged that Vihari was pressured by Prudhviraj’s father, a YSRCP corporator. Despite Vihari’s desire to play for another board or state, the ACA withheld his No-Objection Certificate (NOC).
With the recent victory of the TDP and Janasena alliance, Vihari finally received his NOC even before the new government took office. Vihari expressed relief, stating that despite requesting the NOC for two months and sending two emails, he only received it after the political landscape changed. He shared a copy of the NOC on his Twitter page.
