People in Andhra Pradesh are eagerly waiting for the Eluru constituency election results, as they could signal a big shift in power in the state. This election is important because the party that wins the most seats usually takes control.
In the past, the party that won the most seats in United West Godavari typically came to power. For example, in 2004, Congress won 12 out of 16 seats, in 2009 they won 9 out of 15, in 2014 TDP won all 15 seats, and in 2019 YSRCP won 13 out of 15 seats. This trend has held steady for the last four elections. So, whoever wins in Eluru could end up forming the government.
In this election, sitting MLA from YSRCP, Alla Nani, is running in Eluru-town, while former MLA Badeti Bujji is running for TDP. Both parties are confident they’ll win more seats overall. There’s even been big money bets placed on the outcome. The election covers a total of 14 seats, 7 in Eluru district and 7 in West Godavari district, after some district boundaries were changed.
