Fahadh Faasil, gaining nationwide fame, recently shared that he’s been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) at 41.
He talked about this at the opening of the Peace Valley School in Ernakulam District, Kerala. ADHD affects attention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity, making daily life and work challenging.
ADHD falls under Neurodivergent behavioral disorders, where brain functions differ from the norm. Other conditions like autism and dyslexia are also neurodivergent. These disorders don’t affect intelligence, and there’s no cure, only management through therapy, lifestyle changes, and medication. While ADHD is often diagnosed in childhood, some discover it later in life, like Fahadh.
Fahadh’s honesty highlights the difficulties adults face with late diagnoses and societal misconceptions about ADHD.
