High Court Stops YCP Government’s Action Against ABV

Since the YSR Congress government came to power in Andhra Pradesh, there’s been a conflict with former Intelligence Bureau chief AB Venkateswara Rao.

The government suspended him, but he challenged it at the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT). Recently, the CAT ruled that his suspension goes against the rules and lifted it, bringing relief to Rao. However, the YCP government didn’t stop there and appealed to the High Court against CAT’s decision.

But the Andhra Pradesh High Court rejected the government’s appeal, stating they can’t interfere with CAT’s decisions. This means CAT’s decision to lift Rao’s suspension stands, and he’ll likely be reinstated soon.

While the YCP government claims Rao is loyal to the TDP and wants to remove him for that reason, the administrative board says such politically motivated actions are against the rules.
