YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, stirred up controversy with his tweet about EVMs today. He called for replacing EVMs with paper ballots to ensure transparency in elections. This led to videos resurfacing on social media showing Jagan verifying EVMs after winning the 2019 election.
In response, Nara Lokesh criticized Jagan, accusing him of trying to divert attention from allegations about misappropriated furniture and the Rushikonda Palace. Lokesh tweeted that Jagan has a disregard for democracy, citing hypocrisy in blaming EVMs now after praising them in 2019. He also questioned Jagan about the state-funded furniture at his camp office and the extravagant expenditure on the Rushikonda Palace, demanding answers from the former CM.
