Jagan Planning Another Condolence Tour

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is still figuring out why the YSR Congress faced a major loss in the recent AP elections. Today, he held a meeting with YCP MLA and MP candidates and is reportedly planning a significant political move.

According to media reports, Jagan Mohan Reddy is preparing to launch an Odarpu Yatra (Condolence tour) across Andhra Pradesh. Unlike the previous Odarpu Yatra before 2014, which aimed to console families mourning YSR’s death, this new tour in 2024 serves a different purpose.

The upcoming Odarpu Yatra intends to meet and support families who suffered losses due to Jagan’s defeat and those affected by post-election violence. The yatra is expected to start in December or January.

Jagan is using this well-known program to rebuild YCP’s reputation. Analysts suggest this new yatra may not evoke the same emotional response as the first one.

Regarding YCP’s recent election setback, Jagan described it as a temporary setback, not the end. He pledged support to affected families and victims of political violence. It seems Andhra Pradesh may see a return to the days when Jagan frequently undertook such tours.
