The controversial Rushikonda palace is now drawing national attention and scrutiny, casting a shadow on former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s reputation. Republic TV’s Arnab Goswami recently hosted a debate on the extravagant Rs 500+ crore construction, dubbing it Jagan’s “Rajamahal”.
During the discussion, Arnab criticized the palace, likening it to Saddam Hussein’s opulent style and highlighting its exorbitant costs, including bathtubs worth over Rs 36 lakh. He emphasized the secrecy surrounding its construction and questioned the misuse of public funds for what appears more like a lavish personal project than a government facility.
The national coverage by Republic TV has brought the Rushikonda Palace into the limelight beyond just the Telugu states, potentially damaging the YCP’s reputation on a national scale.
