Historically, voters from the Kamma and Kapu communities haven’t consistently supported a single political party. However, in the 2024 elections, they fully backed the TDP-JSP-BJP alliance for the first time. This unity led to the alliance winning a historic 164 seats in the assembly.
Political analyst Undavalli Arun Kumar, known for his alignment with the YS family, shared his insights on this development. He emphasized that the combined support of Kamma and Kapu communities was decisive in sending Jagan’s party out of power this year.
According to Undavalli, the unprecedented alignment of Kamma and Kapu votes bolstered the alliance’s victory. He noted that this coalition proved to be a formidable force that caught Jagan off guard.
Undavalli also criticized Jagan’s strategy, highlighting his reliance on government employees rather than party cadre. He pointed out that Jagan’s decision to arrest Chandrababu was viewed negatively by the public, which affected his party’s prospects negatively.
