Raghu Rama Krishna Raju has been a major force behind the anti-government movement against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. For the past five years, the former YCP MP has been in a feud with Jagan and was targeted by the YCP leadership. He even faced arrest and alleged mistreatment by the AP CID when he tried to return to Andhra Pradesh.
RRR waited patiently for the right moment and joined the TDP just before the elections. He secured TDP’s safe seat in Undi, where he is expected to win by a large margin. Now that this is certain, there’s a lot of talk about which cabinet position RRR might get once the coalition government is formed.
While there’s been speculation that RRR could become the AP speaker, there’s now talk that he might even be appointed as the home minister.
If RRR does become the home minister, it would give him the chance to retaliate against those who tried to prevent him from freely entering AP. This would be a tough blow for Jagan himself, according to one of RRR’s strong supporters.
On another note, Raghu Rama is very confident about forming the government with the TDP+ alliance. He believes that after June 4th, when the election results are out, the YCP will become irrelevant in AP.
