“Malayalam actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran, while promoting his latest release Aadujeevitham, recently reminisced about his journey alongside Fahadh Faasil. In a heartfelt moment captured at a Galatta event, Fahadh Faasil praised Prithviraj’s dedication and shared a significant revelation.

“I don’t know if many people know this. The first time Prithvi ever did a screen test or an audition was in my house, for my father. I was fortunate enough to witness the birth of a star. And I think that’s the bond I share with him, with you my brother. If there’s anyone who can be Najeeb, that’s you, my brother,” Fahadh expressed in the clip, showcasing their deep camaraderie.

Amidst light-hearted banter, Fahadh Faasil playfully taunted Blessy, director of Aadujeevitham, about their pending film. Prompted by the heartwarming clip, Prithviraj elaborated on their enduring friendship, rooted in their shared background as ‘nepo kids’.

“I am the son of an actor, Dulquer is the son of an actor, and Shanu (Fahadh Faasil) is the son of one of the finest filmmakers. I mean he is not just that anymore. He is one of the finest actors the country has got,” Prithviraj acknowledged, highlighting their shared legacy in the industry.

Prithviraj then delved into the anecdote of his screen test, orchestrated by Fahadh Faasil’s father, veteran filmmaker Fazil. “I screen-tested for what became his (Fahadh) debut film. Shanu’s dad, Fazil Sir, had rented our house in Chennai for about 20 years. Once when we were travelling through Alleppey, my mom stopped the car and asked me to go collect the cheque from Fazil Sir,” Prithviraj recalled, sharing a nostalgic moment.

Reflecting on his unexpected screen test, Prithviraj revealed, “Just because I needed a co-star for me to perform, he had invited another girl for the screen test… and that was Asin. She was in her 9th standard. So, that’s when I first screen tested for a film… in Fahadh’s house in Alleppey.”

With admiration, Prithviraj praised Fahadh Faasil and Dulquer Salmaan’s keen aesthetic sense, hinting at their potential as future filmmakers. As their bond transcends screen tests and auditions, their camaraderie remains an enduring testament to their shared journey in the Malayalam film industry.”
