Since taking office, CM Revanth Reddy has been focused on reducing drug supply and use in Telangana, particularly in Hyderabad. In his recent meeting on the issue, he stressed, “No one involved in drug dealing or use should be let off, not even celebrities or public figures. We may need to form anti-drug teams if necessary. We want people to be scared of drugs.”
His statement comes at a time when a rave party bust in Bengaluru is making headlines. Revanth Reddy instructed the Narcotics Department to ensure Telangana becomes a drug-free state.
Telangana has also introduced drug test kits to quickly identify drug use within 10 minutes, simplifying the process compared to the earlier method of collecting samples and sending them to labs for analysis. Revanth’s proactive stance against drugs is commendable.
