Swami Swaroopananda, the leader of Vizag Sarada Peetham, gained attention from politicians due to his close relationship with former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Before the 2019 elections, he even conducted a ‘Rajasyamala Yagam’ for Jagan’s victory. He was called Jagan’s ‘Raja Guru’ because of his influence on Jagan’s decisions. Ministers from Jagan’s cabinet frequently visited the Sarada Peetham.
Now, with Jagan losing power in the recent elections, Swaroopananda seems to have changed his political stance completely. He distanced himself from his previous associations with the government.
In a recent press conference, Swaroopananda expressed his happiness over the victory of the NDA alliance. He clarified that the conference aimed to dispel any misconceptions about the Sarada Peetham, not out of fear.
He stated that the Sarada Peetham never used its relationship with those in power for personal gain. He blessed the new government and praised the auspicious timing of Naidu’s oath-taking ceremony.
Swaroopananda mentioned his desire to establish a Saradha Peetham in Amaravati in the future, especially now that the new government has started development in the capital city.
He clarified that he has praised Chandra Babu Naidu in the past as well and holds respect for him. He hopes the new government will take care of temples across the state.
He also extended his wishes to Narendra Modi, who recently took oath for his third term as Prime Minister of India.
Many people are now commenting on Swaroopananda’s sudden change in stance after the election results, suggesting that not only politicians but also spiritual leaders seek favor from ruling governments.
