In a recent development, the under-construction YSR Congress office in Tadepalli was demolished by the Andhra Pradesh government through CRDA authorities this morning.
CRDA officials completely razed the building, citing it as illegal construction on land originally designated for the Undavalli boat yard.
Previously, at the start of YCP’s tenure in 2019, Jagan had demolished the Praja Vedika building constructed by the TDP government. Therefore, the TDP+ government’s demolition of an illegally occupied private building cannot be disputed by YCP.
During Jagan’s tenure, this government land was leased to YCP for office construction at a nominal rate, which was controversially criticized by the opposition.
YCP already has a modern head office in Mangalagiri, a multi-storey building, making the necessity for another large construction in Tadepalli on government land contentious from the beginning.
In response, Jagan commented, “Chandrababu has escalated his hostility to a new level by resorting to political actions in Andhra Pradesh.”
Critics argue that after demolishing a fully constructed government building like Praja Vedika on grounds of encroachment, Jagan’s objection to the demolition of his private building on government land lacks credibility.
These controversies, including the Rushikonda palace and now the Tadepalli office, are tarnishing YCP and Jagan’s reputation significantly.
