Despite facing many obstacles, he nearly completed it. However, had he remained in power for just one more year, Polavaram might have been completed by now. What happened during Jagan’s tenure?
Today, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was shocked when he visited the Polavaram Dam and saw the current progress. “If the project had continued like before, it would have been finished by 2020,” he said.
“But now, it’s been stalled for five years without much progress. Engineers and experts say it could take another four years to complete, if work continues uninterrupted from now,” Naidu added during an interview.
Naidu didn’t directly mention YS Jagan, but he remarked, “This is how one person became a curse to Andhra Pradesh.” With recent scandals involving the former Chief Minister, like the Vizag palace and furniture-theft scandals, neglecting Polavaram seems to be the biggest issue of all.
