Veteran TDP Leaders Eye Governor Role

User Newsinnews

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is not only a dominant force in Andhra Pradesh but also holds significant influence in the parliament, particularly within the NDA alliance where it ranks as the second-largest party after the BJP. This growing stature within the alliance is now raising speculation about potential rewards for senior TDP leaders.

There are rumors suggesting that the BJP leadership is considering offering a governorship to TDP as a gesture of appreciation for their support within the NDA. It’s reported that Chandrababu Naidu is enthusiastic about this prospect and may nominate either Yanamala Ramakrishnudu or Ashok Gajapati Raju for the role. Both are seasoned leaders known for their unwavering loyalty to Chandrababu over the years.

While it’s unclear which state’s governorship is being considered, it is anticipated that one of these senior TDP members will be selected for the position. Chandrababu is expected to make a decision soon, and an official announcement could follow shortly thereafter. This move would follow TDP’s previous gesture of nominating Ashok Gajapati Raju for a cabinet ministry during 2014-19, and it remains to be seen if Yanamala will be highlighted this time as another staunch loyalist of the party.
