Since the new government took charge in Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress party leaders have been facing challenges after their defeat in the recent assembly elections. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy himself landed in controversy over the alleged use of government funds to build a lavish palace in Rushikonda. Many former YSRCP MLAs and Ministers are also under scrutiny for their past actions during the party’s previous tenure.
Former Gudivada MLA and Civil Supplies Minister, known for his strong leadership in YSRCP, is now facing repercussions following the party’s decisions just before the elections.
It’s widely known that many YSRCP MLA candidates devised a controversial plan when the election commission banned volunteers from campaigning.
They pressured volunteers under their control to resign immediately and join the election campaign, promising to rehire them if YSRCP won the election.
Now that TDP has returned to power, the future of these volunteers is uncertain. Many have filed complaints at local police stations against the MLAs who coerced them to resign with questionable motives.
Recently, a case has been filed against Kodali Nani. Volunteers from Gudivada constituency lodged a complaint at the police station, alleging they were forced to resign to campaign for YSRCP.
Following their complaint, Nani has been charged under IPC sections 447 and 506. Other YSRCP leaders like Dukkipati Sashibhusan and Gorle Srinu are also implicated in this case.
It’s worth noting that the NDA alliance had promised a salary of 10,000 rupees to each volunteer upon coming to power. Those who resigned at the behest of YSRCP leaders are now seeking immediate reinstatement from current MLAs. So far, the government has not responded to this issue.
