YSRCP vs Alliance: Who’s Leading After Exit Polls?

User Newsinnews

Exit polls, which many political experts and strategists see as a hint to the election results, were released on Saturday evening after the final phase of polling for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections ended. This time, they are getting more attention because it was hard for experts to predict voter sentiment in several states. Andhra Pradesh, especially, grabbed attention as BJP joined hands with TDP and Janasena.

With anticipation from YSRCP and alliance supporters, various exit polls shared the mood of voters in Andhra Pradesh. While national surveys predicted a big win for the NDA alliance, some regional surveys favored YSRCP led by Jagan Mohan Reddy. Both parties seem satisfied with these predictions as they await the June 4th results.

For the NDA alliance, several national surveys like Today’s Chanakya, NDTV, India TV CNX, India Today: My Axis, ABP: C Voter, CNN, and D Dynamic: India News predict a strong majority in parliament elections. They suggest NDA might win over 100 seats out of 175 assembly segments, with YSRCP possibly getting less than 50 seats.

India Today: My Axis, a successful survey group, predicts NDA winning 21 MPs while YSRCP might get 4 MPs. They didn’t forecast assembly seats but hinted at a clear win for the alliance. Surprisingly, Chandra Babu Naidu’s arrest last year changed AP politics, causing a backlash.

YSRCP also finds hope in exit polls. AARA Mastaan, a reliable Andhra-based survey team, predicts Jagan Mohan Reddy retaining power. They suggest YSRCP could win 94–104 seats while NDA might get 71–81 seats. Other polls like Janmat Polls, Poll Strategy, Partha Surveys, TV 9, and NTV also favor YSRCP.

Only Times Now predicts 14 MP seats for YSRCP, previously suggesting they would win all 25 MP seats last year. The accuracy of these projections will be seen after the Election Commission of India announces the final results in two days.
